This blog was made on November 3rd, 2022, and will hopefully persist far into the future! If possible, I will attempt to add a new post every Friday, though that date could slip, or you could see more than one post a week!
On this blog you should expect to hear a lot about my worldbuilding project, Doggyverse (Small Battles). The name is kind of a placeholder, as in I won’t name any more serious stories based off of this project that, I just think “Doggyverse” has a nice ring to it. This informal name came about naturally from talking about it with other people on the internets without a proper way to refer to it. As far as searching back in conversations tells me, my pal Daylight, author of Overcast, coined the term.
Doggyverse takes place in our own solar system, about 2000 years in the future, long after the disappearance of Humanity. In our place are the titular Dogs, which differ from that weird lump of fur that sits on your couch when it isn’t allowed to in the way that they stand on two legs and have human levels of cognition. These Dogs are currently in their space age, leaving their home planet only about one to two hundred years before whenever “now” is in the story. While their tech level is comparatively primitive, comparable to our own 1950s and 60s, except using vacuum tubes. Despite this, they have mastered simple nuclear fusion and have little phones to video call all of their doggy friends and receive spam calls.
